We're back in Oakland for one pop up at our favorite bar.
While you're there grab a beer or try some of The Double Standard's delicious cocktails (they have non alcoholic drinks too).
Also, remember the desserts we used to sell at our regular Oakland pop ups (sweet potato doughnuts, double chocolate brownies, etc.)?
There will be lots of those too, and the person behind them, our friend Alicia, will be there in person to promote her exciting upcoming cafe, Bread & Butter Oakland!
Our menu:
General Tso's Brussels Sprouts
Country fried Brussels sprouts coated in a slightly tangy, slightly spicy and slightly sweet sauce and topped with sesame seeds and scallions. Winner of #BestOfVSF2017 award.
Charsiu Sandwich
Thick slices of Chinese BBQ seitan, lentil mushroom pâté, crunchy cucumber and napa cabbage slaw, scallion aioli and fresh herbs on baguette. With a side of garlic "prawn" crackers.
Chwee Kueh
Teochew and Hokkien in origin, these savory steamed rice cakes are traditionally enjoyed for breakfast but also make for the best bar food. We pan fry ours to order, and top them with ground tempeh and gailan ("Chinese broccoli") seasoned with five spice, and crispy shallots. -Gluten free.-
